Therapy for Children Ages 3 and Up. Supporting Growth, Healing, and Lifelong Wellbeing

At The Kendal Clinic, we delight in working with children. Like gentle waves shaping the shore, we guide young hearts to discover essential skills in emotional regulation and communication, nurturing a foundation that will carry them toward calm waters and bright horizons throughout their lives.

Supporting Your Child’s Journey with Compassion and Care

Seeking psychotherapy services for your child is an important decision, and we approach this responsibility with the utmost care. At every step, we include you in the process, tailoring our communication and involvement to suit your child’s age and developmental stage.
Our clinic is designed to feel welcoming and comforting for children. We have a room filled with therapeutic toys and games where children can feel at ease. Each child is invited to adopt a live plant during their time with us, encouraging a personal connection to our space and fostering a sense of responsibility.

While your child is in session, parents and siblings can relax in our waiting area, equipped with wi-fi, coffee, a homework station, and an art space, creating a calm and supportive environment for everyone.

We also collaborate closely with your child’s teachers and other providers—including pediatricians, psychiatrists, and tutors—to ensure our treatment plan aligns with shared goals and promotes your child’s overall wellbeing.

Some of the most common challenges we support children through include:

  • Anxiety and fears, such as tantrums during school drop-off
  • Attention and concentration difficulties
  • Depression, grief, and persistent low mood
  • Past trauma and PTSD
  • Anger, aggression, and acting out behaviors like hitting or yelling
  • Sibling rivalry and family connection struggles
  • Challenges with cooperation and consistent parenting, including co-parenting conflicts
  • Difficulty making and keeping friends
  • Adjustment to life changes such as divorce, a new sibling, or a new school
  • School-related difficulties

At The Kendal Clinic, we are committed to helping your child navigate these challenges with empathy and skill, guiding them toward calmer seas and brighter horizons.
