I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), which means I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work. This allows me to provide competent and compassionate therapy while continuing to grow professionally, ensuring the highest standard of care for my clients. I bring a strong foundation in evidence-based practices, a commitment to ongoing learning, and a deep passion for supporting others through meaningful change.
Collaborating to Grow Confidence and Foster Healthy Connections
When choosing my areas of expertise, I reflected on my prior roles and where I have gained the most experience, as well as where I feel I can make the greatest impact. I am particularly passionate about play therapy for children, having seen firsthand the significant benefits and real-life success it has brought to many clients. With teenagers and young adults, I place a great importance on addressing topics such as self-esteem, disordered eating, and relationship issues. These concerns can have long-lasting effects if not properly addressed, and I am dedicated to guiding my clients through these challenges to set them up for a successful future.
Creating Meaningful Change Through Trust and Connection
I was inspired to pursue this path by the therapists who helped me grow into the person I am today, with the goal of doing the same for others. My counseling style is person-centered and holistic; and I believe that transparency is the key to trust. I place a high value on building rapport and trust with my clients. A strong therapeutic relationship is essential for creating lasting change, and I work to ensure my clients feel seen, heard, and valued.
It’s a privilege to walk alongside my clients in their journey, helping them uncover their strengths and empowering them to create meaningful change in their lives.
When they begin to thrive in areas they once thought were impossible to improve, it feels like the ultimate success.
Cultural Sensitivity with a Midwest Heart
I grew up in the Metro Detroit area, and I have lived here my entire life. My upbringing was shaped by a family that embraced many different cultures, and the neighborhood I lived in was equally diverse. This multicultural background has significantly influenced how I approach therapy, and I always make sure to consider the cultural context of each client’s experience. I believe in practicing cultural competency and approach each therapeutic relationship with an open, inclusive mindset.
Finding Joy, No Matter the Weather
In my free time, I love being outdoors, whether it’s golfing, boating, biking, or taking my dog for walks. During the colder months, I find joy in cooking and baking, with trying out new recipes quickly becoming one of my favorite hobbies. I love that it allows me to unwind and experiment in the kitchen. Whether it’s the fun of outdoor activities or the comfort of home-cooked meals, I always try to find ways to stay engaged and grounded in what brings me joy.
