DBT BOOTCAMP 🔗

In my practice, I take great pride in building strong rapport and therapeutic relationships with my clients. I use a gentle, empathic, and compassionate approach to therapy to allow my clients to feel safe, relaxed, understood, and validated in every session. When appropriate, I also find a lot of benefit in using a light-hearted and humorous approach as laughter can be the best medicine. I utilize a combination of several different therapy modalities to create a unique and client centered experience for each of my clients. These modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Based Approach, Mindfulness, and Supportive Therapy.

Originally from Canada, I completed my Bachelors of Social Work Degree at the University of Windsor and crossed the border to complete my Masters of Social Work Degree at Wayne state. I have many years of experience working with a variety of clients with various mental health concerns. Some of these concerns included: anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic/delusional disorders, substance use disorders, personality disorders, and survivors of trauma.

I work mostly with adults ages 18+. I enjoy working with all sorts of clients but I have a particular interest in working with young women ages 16-35, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals who are pre or post bariatric surgery. During our time together, we will focus on building self-love, self-esteem, and confidence while challenging and breaking down the negative beliefs you may have accumulated over the years.  I aim to create a safe, non-judgement space for my client where they can feel comfortable and relaxed.

My Ideal Client

My ideal client is someone who is open minded and willing to try a variety of new skills and practices to improve their life. It is important that these clients are motivated to make changes in their lives, even if they are not sure how to do so yet. I am here to support, encourage, empower, and advocate for all my clients throughout their journey to a happier, healthier life.
