Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

I bring my long and varied experience as a nurse to a holistic approach to medication management. While my primary role is as a prescriber, I am always interested in exploring and encouraging other coping strategies in addition to medication, such as psychotherapy, exercise, meditation and yoga. I believe that medication is just one part of overall health and wellness maintenance. I use evidence-based practice to determine the best medications for a client and believe that medication genetic testing may also be helpful for some clients.

I see children ( ages 6 years old and up), teens and adults, and I work with parents and other therapists to coordinate care, if needed. I work particularly well with clients who are looking to find a better balance at home, school, work, and life. My hospital experience allows me to be open to somewhat more medically complex clients of all ages.

My philosophy is very holistic, and I value mind-body approaches. As a certified yoga instructor, I also teach and practice yoga in my free time. I believe very strongly in animal welfare and protecting the planet we all share. I subscribe to the Gaia Theory that postulates the earth and everything in it is an integrated living system that must maintain homeostasis.
